Suttor (the younger), William Henry, 1834 – 1905
Biographical notes
William Henry Suttor (1834-1905), pastoralist and parliamentarian, was born at Brucedale, son of William Henry Suttor the elder (1805-1877) and his wife Sarah Maria. He was educated at Parramatta by Dr. William Woolls and from the age of sixteen managed his father's pastoral runs. In July 1890 he was the founding President of the Pastoralists' Union of New South Wales.
Suttor was elected member of the NSW Legislative Assembly for the seat of East Macquarie (1875-1879) and appointed a member of the NSW Legislative Council (1880-1900). Suttor's father William Henry Suttor (1805-1877), his brother Sir Francis Bathurst Suttor (1839-1915) and his uncle John Bligh Suttor (1809-1886) were all members of the NSW parliament.[ref:ADB 6]
