Oxley, Henry Molesworth, 1826 – 1867
Biographical notes
Henry Molesworth Oxley (1826-1867), pastoralist and parliamentarian, was born at Camden, NSW, son of explorer John Oxley and his wife Emma, nee Norton. After his father's death in 1828 Henry Oxley received, with his brother John Norton Oxley (1824-1891), a grant of five thousand acres in recognition of their father's services. The land, Wingecarribee Station, was located near Bowral. Henry Oxley was elected a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly for the seat of Camden (1859-1860).
