Biographical notes

Robert Thomas Jamison (1829-1878), pastoralist and parliamentarian, was born at Penrith, son of Sir John Jamison. He was educated at Sydney College. He was a clerk in the Legislative Council offices for a short period. Jamison inherited a share of his father's estate including a pastoral property on the Namoi River. He was elected a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly for the seats of Cook and Westmoreland (1856-1859) and The Nepean (1859-1860).[ref:ADB 2]
