Ainsworth, William, 1875 – 1945
Biographical notes
William Ainsworth (1875-1945), railway worker and parliamentarian, was born at Lambton, son of John and Sarah Ainsworth. He became secretary of the Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Enginemen from 1911 to 1935. Ainsworth was elected a Labor member of the NSW Legislative Council, 1925-1934, and worked closely with J. B. Chifley.
