a'Beckett, Arthur Martin, 1812 – 1871

Arthur Martin a' Beckett (1812-1871), surgeon and parliamentarian, arrived in Sydney in November 1838 with his wife Emma Louise, nee Elwin. He was a member of the NSW Legislative Council from May 1856 to November 1860.

His son William Channing a' Beckett (1846-1929), pastoralist and parliamentarian, was a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly in the seat of The Bogan from February 1889 to June 1891 and from May 1892 to June 1894.
